Welcome to my Web page

I have various hobbies and interests that I have undertaken over the years. Here is some brief information, and you can find out more about each of them by selecting the appropriate link

JONGERS AIRGUN PAGES
I have been shooting Airguns since my early teens, over the years I have seen them develop from basic spring guns to todays highly engineered accurate and consistant guns capable of greater accuracy than the person holding them. Having been trained in pest control I have turned my marksmanship skills to Pest Control work.

GERALD CARDEW PAGES

My old friend and neighbour Gerald Cardew has given me some of his un-published research shortly before he passed away so that I can share it with any one interested in it, and I have put it here in tribute to him.

OUTDOOR PURSUITS

I like the Outdoor life and from childhood remember countryside Walks and picnics. My father introduced me to Fishing and shooting Airguns in the garden and at school I won a prize for marksmanship at the Airgun shooting club.
MARLIN KITCAR

I bought a MARLIN Kitcar based on Triumph Herald mechanics back in 1979, the MARLIN styling was inspired by 1920's Alfa Romeo touring cars.
I purchased a kit, built it and used it as every day transport for about 5 years before relegating it to be a second car.

HOT AIR BALLOONING

I started participating in Hot Air Ballooning in the early 90's when a friend who was an active Balloonist invited me (and my RangeRover). I joined the Balloon Crew for a couple of years taking part in local flights, national competitions and attended the Irish Ballooning Championships in 1993 and 1994 when we actually won an award.

COMPUTER
In the late 80's I bought a second hand Olivetti M24 "Personal Computer" it had DOS 3.2 and a massive (for the time ) 20MB hard drive. I used it quite successfully for a number of years for basic word processing and similar data functions, printing through a Star 24pin dot matrix printer.

OOGUF

Back in 1983 I was entertained by a work collegue who told wonderful tales of a group of ex-scouts who went on a NARROWBOAT every year for a weeks trip on the BRITISH CANAL NETWORK. The tradition had started when they were scouts together and they had enjoyed a weeks holiday on the canal so much that they decided that they would do the same thing every year, the next year my friend informed me that there was a space on that years "cruise" and would I be interested in joining the regulars. Thats how I joined "OOGUF"

BUDGIES

Choosing the ideal pet for a young child can be difficult . The answer came when we "budgie-sat" for a neighbour. The choice was made - BUDGIES it would be.
